We may have raised a query about your documents.

    Email: documents@personnelchecks.co.uk

    WhatsApp: 07909 116 233

Please make sure you do not send your documents as a reply to the email with your login details. We cannot reply if you send your documents by post. If you choose to post your documents, please send via recorded delivery for your own security.

  • You need to send a minimum of three documents from the list below. One from Group 1 and two supporting documents. Where possible we recommend sending a Passport and Driving Licence in support of your application.

    LIST OF DOCUMENTS

These are the only documents that we can legally process in support of your application. Documents that don’t appear on this list cannot be accepted. Some councils require specific documentation. This will be explained in your instructions email once you’ve started the process.

  • All the documents you submit need to be in your correct legal name. These documents would need to match the name on the application. If your documents show different names, we cannot use those to confirm your identity. If we do, the DBS could withdraw your application.

The council may even refuse to licence you when you present them with the certificate. There are some exceptions. People who have legally changed their name by deed poll, through marriage or for transgender applicants. If this applies to you, please get in touch via taxi@personnelchecks.co.uk before you send your documents. We will need to advise you, specifically on your situation.

  • You can complete your application on a mobile device, but we don’t recommend it. Most applicants’ problems are resolved simply by using a computer. If you do not have access to a computer, you can ask for help. Asking a friend, colleague, or family member to complete the form on your behalf, is fine. As long as you provide consent.

  • After you have received your DBS certificate you need to contact the council. They will need to see this, along with your ID in support of your licence application. Please do not send your DBS certificate to TaxiPlus. Councils usually send an email advising the next steps. If you don’t receive this please contact your local authority.

  • When ordering your check, we only need your first name and surname. This is not the application form. If you include middle names it can cause delays. For example, if your name were ‘Mohammed Farooq Ahmed’, you would submit your order as ‘Mohammed Ahmed. When you complete the application form there is space to enter your middle name(s).The best way to check this is to look at your driving licence number.

Below is an example, separated into 5 sections.

    A - B - C - D - EAHMED - 857203 - MF9 (or M99) - LY - 60

The important part here is Section C.

This is the first two initials of your first names. If you have only one initial, the second character will be a '9'.If you have more than one first name but the initial is shown here, it means it is legally recognised as a middle name. Please don’t include it when placing your order.

  • Don’t worry, your DVLA check info is sent straight to the council. They can then access this when they need to. You will not receive a certificate for this. You will receive an email to confirm you’ve done this successfully.

  • First, check your instructions email. Not all councils we work with carry out a DVLA check with us.If the email states you should have received this, check your junk/spam folder.

The emails often get marked as spam!If you have completed a DBS check with us in the past 3 years you have probably already completed this. If so, you don’t need to complete this step and won’t receive an email. If we encounter a problem with your DVLA check we will contact you via email.

  • Within 24 hours of your application being submitted you will receive an email from the Disclosure and Barring Service. This email will contain your ‘E-reference’ number. This is your tracking number. If you wish to track your check, you can do so via the link below:

    DBS CHECK TRACKING

  • If you haven’t received your E-Reference number, it means part of your application is incomplete. You need to make sure you have completed every step on your instructions email. These steps are specific to your licensing authority, but may include:Completing a DBS application form.Completing your DVLA licence check e-consent.

Getting documents verified at the post office. Sending proof of national insurance. If you are sure all the steps have been completed, it could be a problem with your documents. If we raise a query, we will contact you by the same method you sent the ID (excluding postal documents). Most queries are easily solved but we can’t amend your application without consent. If you have placed an order but not received an instructions email, please let us know at taxi@personnelchecks.co.uk

Remember, your check isn’t in process until you have the E-Reference number.

  • Unfortunately, you can’t. There is no fast-track procedure for the DBS. Once an application has been submitted to the Disclosure and Barring Service all you can do is wait.

If your check has been stuck in Stage 4 with the Police for 61 days or more then you can raise an escalation. You would need to contact the Disclosure and Barring Service on 0300 0200 190, selecting Option 2 and then 1.

The DBS will then start an investigation into why your check is taking so long. This generally resolves the issue. They may need more information or it could be an internal query.

In rare situations an Emergency Escalation can be raised. These are reserved for people facing severe difficulties as a result of an outstanding check. There is no guarantee that an escalation of this type can be raised.

  • Providing 5 years’ worth of addresses is a minimum requirement for the Enhanced DBS check. You don’t need to provide the exact date, but month and year is required.

If you provide inaccurate information, it could cause your check to be delayed or withdrawn.

If you have had no fixed abode, an overseas address or an unusual living situation, you can find guidance here.

  • Within 1 hour of purchasing your check, you will receive 3 emails. The email from donotreply@employmentcheck.org.uk will contain a username and password. It will also contain the following link:

    https://personnelchecks.employmentcheck.org.uk/

You need to follow this link. Copy the login details across and click login. You will then be asked to agree to our terms and conditions. Once you have agreed, you will see a screen with a button that says, ‘Start Application’.

  • Your Trust2Ride (T2R) certificate will be emailed to you within 2 weeks of the attended course date. If you haven’t received this in 14 days, let us know. We can send one additional copy of the certificate to you.

If you wait longer than 3 months to contact us, you will need to contact the council to confirm your attendance. Once they have advised us of which session you attended, we can send out another copy.

  • We can’t advise you of which questions you have failed and there are no practice papers. The best way to revise for your e-Knowledge test is to learn the local area. Learn the rules, regs and roads and you’ll be fine.

The tests aren’t designed to trip you up. They are in place so that the council can be sure they are doing the best they can to safeguard you and the public.

  • The Disclosure and Barring Service will post the certificate to the address stated on the application form. They advise that this can take up to 14 days.

If after 14 days you haven’t received this, you can request a reprint. You can do this by calling the DBS on 0300 0200 190. Alternatively, follow these instructions.

You can only request one reprinted certificate. This needs to be done within 3 months of the issue date.

  • No.

Once your check is completed, the DBS will post the certificate to you. You cannot receive the certificate via email, or, electronically in any way.

You will receive ONE paper copy of your certificate. You can request a further copy if you meet the criteria for a reprint.

You can sign up to the DBS Update Service. This is the closest you can get to having a digital version of a DBS. Once your check is completed you have 30 days to sign up.
