TaxiPlus Achieves a Clean Sweep in 2025 Compliance Audits

At TaxiPlus, compliance is the foundation of the trust our partners place in us. This year, that commitment has been recognised in the best possible way.

Over the past twelve months, TaxiPlus has successfully passed three major external audits, each carried out by a leading regulatory body. The audits covered our Standard and Enhanced DBS Checks, our Basic DBS Checks, and our DVLA Licence Checking System and we’re proud to say we passed all three with no recommendations for improvement.

Three Audits, One Consistent Result

The first of the three audits was conducted by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), assessing how we manage Standard and Enhanced DBS Checks for taxi and private hire licensing authorities. This audit applies to Registered Bodies like TaxiPlus, ensuring that all checks are submitted lawfully, accurately and securely under the Police Act 1997 and the DBS Code of Practice.

Next, the DBS carried out a separate audit of our Basic DBS Checking process. This level of check is available to both Registered Bodies and Responsible Organisations, and is widely used across the transport sector, primarily for taxi and private hire operators. The audit confirmed that TaxiPlus continues to meet all requirements for eligibility, data handling and applicant verification.

Finally, our systems were audited by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), reviewing our processes for managing driver licence data. The audit assessed how securely information is handled, how accurately data is matched, and how consistently we meet DVLA standards and once again, we achieved a perfect result. This was the first audit that we’ve had of our proprietary DVLA checking system, so to pass with such a positive result was incredible news for us.

Raising the Bar for Licensing Standards

Passing three separate audits in a single year is an outstanding result. It reflects not just the quality of our systems and training, but the consistency of our approach across every check we process.

Chloe Cook, Group Head of Compliance, commented:

“Passing these audits demonstrates that our processes are robust, compliant, and reliable across multiple areas of scrutiny.

Our customers can have complete confidence in the integrity and reliability of the services we provide. These results also help reduce risk, ensure regulatory alignment, and offer added assurance that all data and processes are handled professionally and securely.”

Ryan Sidley, General Manager at TaxiPlus, added:

“It’s always rewarding to see the team’s hard work recognised at this level. We’ve built TaxiPlus from the ground up with a focus on doing things the right way — for our customers, for applicants, and for the communities they serve. Passing a single audit is an achievement, but passing three in one year shows that our standards remain strong, consistent, and future-ready.”

What This Means for Licensing Authorities

For local authorities, compliance and safeguarding are non-negotiable. By partnering with a provider that has been independently audited across all service areas, you can be confident that every check, whether DBS or DVLA, meets the highest standards of legality, accuracy and data protection.

Our audit results mean that:

  • You can trust our ID verification and eligibility checks are consistent and compliant.

  • Driver and applicant data is handled securely at every stage.

  • Our systems are proven to meet DBS and DVLA technical and procedural standards.

Driving Forward with Confidence

These results are more than a milestone; they’re a reflection of our ongoing commitment to safer licensing. The transport and private hire industry depends on trusted partners who do things right, every time. That’s why we invest heavily in training, technology and continuous improvement so our customers can rely on processes that are not just compliant, but exceptional.

At TaxiPlus, we’re proud to play our part in making licensing simpler, safer and more secure for everyone.
