TaxiPlus Launch New DBS Update Service Status Checking Service

Part of the new Statutory Taxi & Private Hire Vehicle Standards, issued by the Department for Transport (DfT), states that all licensed drivers must be subject to a criminality check every six months. To be able to do this efficiently, drivers are encouraged to sign up for the DBS Update Service.

The Update Service allows licensing authorities to run ‘status checks’ on a regular basis. This ensures they are in possession of the most relevant information about their drivers. Drivers who can't show a current subscription to the DBS Update Service will need to pay to complete another DBS Check.

As taxi compliance specialists, we know how time-consuming adding additional processes to a regime can be. Being required to regularly carry out these checks, while essential for compliance, takes time. This is why we’ve been hard at work finding ways to make life easier for decision-makers.

TaxiPlus are now pleased to announce a new Update Service status checking module that can be integrated seamlessly into any of our DBS checking packages. Our platform will notify you as and when new information is added, reducing wasted admin time and freeing you up to focus on licensing decisions.

Making the sign-up process as simple as possible, the TaxiPlus system can also prompt drivers to subscribe to the Update Service within the platform. Once sign-up is complete TaxiPlus can do the rest! Providing vital updates to decision-makers when and where they’re needed most. Helping you remain compliant while being as efficient as possible.
