Take Me Group Continue Growth with Purchase of Stoke Private Hire Firm

If you’re in the trade and haven’t heard of, Take Me Group (TMG), you will do soon. Despite only being in the industry for ten months they’ve succeeded in adding several taxi and private hire firms from across the UK to their portfolio. The acquisition of Stoke-on-Trent-based InterCity Taxis, for a reported sum of somewhere between £3-4 million, brings the number of firms under their umbrella to a total of seven. TMG’s growth seems unlikely to stop there considering a statement from the group suggested they were planning on acquiring companies ‘at a rate of one per month’.

Although TMG has only existed for around ten months they have a wealth of experience at their disposal. The group has evolved out of ADT Taxis (Driven by Riide Ltd), which was recently acquired by MBH Corporation Plc a ‘diversified investment holding company’. Seemingly, MBH has long planned to diversify by creating a transportation branch within its portfolio. ADT Taxis has served as a foundation for this development.

In a press release for MBH Corporation, David Hunter, former CEO of ADT Taxis and now Take Me Group, commented saying:

"We are excited to be joining MBH at a pivotal moment for the company. Over the last few years we have become fully cloud based having automated our 600 vehicle fleet and 70% of our bookings come through our customer app. We have strong growth ambitions which MBH will be instrumental in helping us achieve; in the next 18 months our aim is to buy other fleets and expand our network and rebrand with a national tech focussed name. Our further ambition is to merge other profit-making private hire fleets under one company and brand and to streamline them and modernise them to cloud based fleet management companies. I am very excited about the future and our potential with MBH."

Callum Laing, CEO, MBH Corporation plc, commented:

"David and his team have substantial growth plans and we are delighted to be working with them to achieve that. As David commented, it's an exciting moment both for his company and the industry in general - that has faced challenges from increased competition over the past years, but that is now poised for significant growth. As we move into a scenario where last mile logistics become increasingly valuable, having the experience and the network of drivers that Driven by Riide has will prove critical. People, parcels or your dinner, Driven by Riide will ultimately be able to deliver."

TMG are, in their words, “Building the Future Private Hire Network for Operators.” MBH and TMG both seem confident that by investing in localised taxi and private hire firms they will be able to modernise the industry whilst benefiting those that have spent their lives building it into what it is today.
